Hello, Several of our group recently submitted paintings to The Loveland Historical Society Show. We were supposed to use a grouping of Susan Ford Cones black and white photos for our inspiration for our paintings. Barbara Pask took a sponsors award and Mary Lasoncyzk took an honorable mention in the show. Frankie Wheeler and Celester Bryant also had a paintings in the show but their photo wasn't taken as they were not available at the time.

Painting Still Lifes
Hi, We have moved into a strip mall for the summer, LaRosa pizzeria allows us to use one of their empty spaces during the summer. Normally we paint in the very beautiful Snyder House in Cottell park but they have summer camps there so we have to find a new home every summer.
Today we painted still lifes, I brought in a load of props and we set them up all around a table so you could paint from any angle. Some painted near the table, some took the props to their table and many just worked on other projects.
The space is huge and we order lunch from LaRosa so that's a plus too.
Have a great day.

The Meaning of Flowers
Hi there, It has been quite a while since we posted but we are alive and well and busy. Tonight was the opening of The Meaning of Flowers, a show of flower paintings by Mason Area Painters. The show is displayed at Mason Christian Village in Mason Ohio and will hang for a month. We are so pleased to be there, a beautiful location and you should stop by before July 18th to view the show. Summer is here and our attendance always falls off some with folks out of town but we still meet every Monday morning to paint and socialize. Here are some of the photos taken this evening at the opening, excuse my shaky hand. The show hangs in two rooms on grids, I shot from every side so hopefully you can see and enjoy the work. Thanks for stopping by

Painting still lifes
Hello, Mason Area Painters painted still lifes this past Monday. We spread out in 3 different rooms in the Snyder House at Cottell park. Barbara our chairperson brought in a box of props and others brought things of their own to paint. Several of the group painted on other projects and worked in the back room. There are 18 people in Maps, short for Mason Area Painters. Our group has grown over the years and now we limit it to 18 and we have a waiting list. We are all members of the Mason Deerfield Arts Alliance and it is so great to be part of a group like this. Sharing ideas with like minded people, making friendships and sharing laughs.
The photos are a bit dark but you get the idea.
Have a great day

Mural- finished
Mary, Nancy and Alicia put the finishing touches on the mural they have been working on for the last several weeks. It measures around 6 ft. x 8 ft. and I think it came out fabulous. They all signed it and they should feel proud. It looks wonderful gals! Sorry I cropped off the top of it when I photographed it but you get the idea.

Eleven of the eighteen in our group displayed some of their art, not everyone was available for one reason or another. It was a great day, wonderful weather, a good crowd and some sales. A fun project
Hi there, A few of the gals in our Mason Area Painters group are working on a special project. They are painting a scene on a 6 ft. X 8 ft. screen that they are donating for a secret project. Mary Lasonczyk, Nancy Stapleton and Alicia Rizzi are grouping up and tackling this together. This is 2 days work and they plan to finish in 2 or 3 more days. Mary is heading this up, she spent a lot of time sketching it out on a smaller scale in watercolors and they are painting it larger in acrylics.
I'll try to get some photos of it finished to share with you too.
Have a good day, thank you for visiting.

Painting a model
Hi, This morning Mason Area Painters had a gorgeous gal named Ellen sit for us. Ten of the eighteen chose to paint or sketch her. She is a wonderful model, such a pretty young gal and she sits very still. She sat for about 3 hours and here is our result. I missed a few of the people that left a bit early.
Thank you for stopping by.
